Browns TE Cameron returns to practice, but won't play Sunday
BEREA, Ohio -- Browns tight end Jordan Cameron will miss his fourth straight game because of concussion symptoms.
Cameron practiced Friday for the first time in four weeks, but will not play Sunday when the Browns (6-4) visit Atlanta. He hasn't played since Oct. 26 when he was struck in the back of the head while making a catch against Oakland.
A Pro Bowler last season, Cameron has gotten close to returning several times, but he's had setbacks that have required him to start over in the NFL's protocol on head injuries. Cameron has just 13 catches this season after getting 80 last year, when he scored seven touchdowns.
Cameron said he has met with two neurologists, who have assured him that he will not have long-term effects from the concussions. He has sustained three concussions in less than two years. The 26-year-old said he has spoken with former teammate Ben Watson, now with New Orleans, about concussions.
Cameron, who is in his final year under contract, said he would not risk playing if it meant he would be debilitated down the road.
Browns starting inside linebacker Karlos Dansby (knee) did not practice and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game in Atlanta. Linebacker Jabaal Sheard (foot) was limited in practice and is listed as questionable.
