Jets' Harris questionable for opener, Jenkins doubtful

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 8:45 p.m. ET

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) New York Jets linebacker David Harris is questionable for the season opener Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals because of a shoulder injury.

Rookie linebacker Jordan Jenkins, a projected starter, is doubtful with an injured calf. He likely will be replaced at outside linebacker by Mike Catapano.

Harris, who was hurt in the Jets' third preseason game against the Giants, has not missed a game since the 2008 season. He says he initially thought he had broken his collarbone, and is relieved the injury is not as serious. Coach Todd Bowles says he could be a game-time decision.

Linebacker Bruce Carter (shoulder) is also questionable, while third-string quarterback Bryce Petty (shoulder) and cornerback Darryl Roberts (foot) are out for the opener.
