Jeff Fisher is confident in Rams' young offensive line

The biggest question mark heading into the 2015 season for the St. Louis Rams is how the offensive line will hold up. The Rams have only one player with more than one season of experience on the O-line (left guard Rodger Saffold).

Head coach Jeff Fisher does not seem too concerned about the lack of experience. He believes his offensive line will be prepared and ready to play by the time the regular season begins.

“They’re going to be ready to go, so that’s not going to be an issue," Fisher said, via ESPN.com.

Fisher will likely have two rookie starters in Jamon Brown and Rob Havenstein. He has liked what he has seen so far out of the two rookies, however they have yet to put on pads and really go up against a tough defensive line. Training camp will be their first big test.

As far as the center position goes, Fisher knows he doesn't have much experience available to him, but likes the flexibility he has with a few players. It will be an open competition during camp between Tim Barnes, Barrett Jones and Demetrius Rhaney.

"We don’t have a lot of experience at the center position, but you gain experience by playing," Fisher said. "We’ll make that decision at some point. I’m pleased with the flexibility. I’m pleased with where ‘JB’ is right now at the guard spot. Rob has been solid at right tackle. They’re not making mistakes. Again, it’s so early because you don’t have the pads on. I think they will probably improve significantly when the pads go on because it stalemates a little bit with the defense. Defense wins right now. That’s just how OTAs are. Defense is going to win.”

Fisher has been around the NFL for a long time so the confidence he has in his young players is a good sign for the Rams. Training camp will be crucial for the Rams coaching staff as they will get to see a good number of offensive linemen with pads on and competing for the first time.
