James Jones calls his hoodie 'a good luck charm'

Whenever he’s battling opposing secondaries and extending plays for Aaron Rodgers in the blistering cold, Packers wide receiver James Jones in his hooded sweatshirt is an impossible sight to miss. The hoodie first blessed us with its presence in a mid-November game against the Vikings, with Jones wearing it under his jersey, claiming it to be a safeguard against the frigid Minnesota winter. Since then, Jones has sported it intermittently on gameday. Now he appears once and for all to be fully embracing the hoodie for the mystical superpowers it seems to bestow upon him.

Appearing Wednesday on Around the NFL, the 31-year-old receiver revealed that he will continue to sport the beloved piece of apparel despite the sunny Arizona conditions slated for Saturday’s Divisional Round game against the Cardinals.

“I wear the hoodie in practice. They always say practice how you play. So I said I’m going to wear the hoodie out in the game,” said Jones per Chris Wesseling of NFL.com. “I guess it’s like a good luck charm now, but it all started off just to keep me warm.”

Jones finished the 2015 regular season with 890 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. But even he can’t deny that playing with the hoodie (as opposed to playing without it) turns him into a whole ‘nother beast (as this recent graphic from NFL Network illustrates):

Come this weekend, both Jones and the Packers are going to be hoping that it’s all good in the hood.
