Jags LB Tripp earns positive reviews in first start

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Jordan Tripp made his first NFL start in Sunday's 51-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts, with head coach Gus Bradley praising the second-year player's performance after being pressed into service with starter Paul Posluszny out with a broken hand.

Tripp made four tackles starting at middle linebacker and although Bradley said Tripp initially had a few minor issues getting the defense lined up, overall the coach was pleased.

A fifth-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2014, Tripp was signed to Jacksonville's practice squad in September before being elevated to the active roster on Oct. 10.

“I thought how he managed the huddle, how he directed traffic, how he took ownership of it and how he handled it – I just thought he did a really, really good job under the conditions he went into,” Bradley said. “I think that he did a lot of things really well. I’m pleased with his first opportunity and I think he’ll continue to grow from it.”

The Jaguars are expected to have update on Posluszny's status for the team's Week 15 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday.
