The Jacksonville Jaguars placed reserve running back Bernard Pierce on inured reserve with a calf injured sustained prior to the team’s Nov. 15 win over the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced Monday.

Pierce, who was claimed off waivers from Baltimore March 19, appeared in seven games this season, rushing six times for 11 yards, while catching one pass for four yards.

The four-year veteran, who was injured during warmups before the game against the Ravens, had been inactive the last two weeks.

Jacksonville signed former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Joplo Bartu to fill Pierce’s spot on the roster. Bartu appeared in 39 games with 28 starts for Atlanta over the last three seasons and recorded 178 tackles and 4.5 sacks. He was released by the Falcons on Nov. 26.

The Jaguars also signed linebacker Sean Porter to the team’s practice squad.
