Indiana loses left tackle with undisclosed injury

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) Indiana left tackle Jason Spriggs was carted off the field and taken to an ambulance late in Saturday's game against No. 8 Michigan State.

Team officials did not immediately have an update on his condition. It appeared Spriggs may have had a helmet-to-helmet collision with 4:54 left in the game and the Hoosiers trailing 49-17.

The 6-foot-7, 300-pound junior is Indiana's top offensive lineman and was the latest addition to an injury-filled week.

Indiana lost its top two quarterbacks, Nate Sudfeld and Chris Covington, with injuries in last week's loss at Iowa. Sudfeld will miss the rest of the season with a separated left shoulder. Covington was diagnosed with a torn ACL earlier this week.
