O’Brien happy to have guard over Carr by Frank Schwab, Yahoo Sports

But hey, Texans coach Bill O’Brien still thinks his team made the right move taking a guard over Carr. Just ask him.

“We evaluated all the quarterbacks in that draft and we felt like he was definitely one of the better quarterbacks,” O’Brien said, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “When it comes to the draft, Rick and I, we just try to make the decision for the team and that’s what we did. We chose who we chose and we’re happy with who we chose, but Derek is having a good year.”

Yeah right. This is complete BS. If they could go back in time and take Derek Carr there is no question they would do it. Now, there might be some cynics out there who will say that if the Texans picked Carr, they would have ruined his development. However, you think with a guy like DeAndre Hopkins to throw to that Carr would have bombed in Houston? Think again.

Meanwhile, nickel cornerback A.J. Bouye returned to practice after being sidelined against the Jaguars due to a sprained ankle sustained last Friday.

This is good news. Bouye has been a breakout star this season and getting him back for a game going against a high powered offense of the Raiders is going to be vital. Wilfork is obviously declining, but he has played in plenty of big games in his career and having his voice and presence in the locker room and on the field should go a long way in calming down these young guys.
