The Houston Texans waived Mike Mohamed from injured reserve on Tuesday after reaching an injury settlement with the linebacker.

Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans and Mohamed agreed on a three-week settlement for $116,470. With the agreement, Mohamed is free to sign with another team in three weeks. Otherwise, according to league rules, he is eligible to rejoin Houston Week 14.

Mohamed was placed on injured reserve Sept. 30 with a calf injury, but indicated at the time he wanted an opportunity to continue playing.

“I want to play this season,” Mohamed said, via the Chronicle. “It won’t be here, but I want to play somewhere and get back on the field. I’m almost back from the injury, so it’s kind of frustrating to go on injured reserve, but I understand that they didn’t feel like they could wait.”

A four-year veteran, Mohamed started two games for the Texans last season and made 68 tackles.
