Lacy is averaging 3.7 yards per carry this season, and he has taken a backseat to James Starks in the running back rotation in recent weeks. The timing of this groin injury is particularly poor, since he dealt with an ankle injury earlier in the season.
During his Monday press conference, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy didn’t sound pleased with Lacy’s production to date.
Perhaps Lacy will finally start rolling against the one-win Lions, who allow an average of 133.8 rushing yards per game (30th in NFL). After two consecutive seasons with at least 1,100 rushing yards, the third-year running back is currently projected to finish with 616 yards in 2015.
