Giants' Pierre-Paul says off-season surgery went well
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul says recent surgery on his mangled right hand went well and he hopes to play next season without a ''club'' on it.
Speaking for the first time since re-signing to a one-year contract, Pierre-Paul wasn't very specific Tuesday in discussing his hand hurt by fireworks. He did not say whether his hand dexterity has improved since the surgery, and he isn't sure what he will wear on the hand, saying he'll wait and see.
The 27-year-old, who missed the first eight games last season because of the firework accident, plans to attend the Giants' off-season training sessions.
While excited about the free agent signings of defensive linemen Olivier Vernon and Damon Harrison, cornerback Janoris Jenkins and linebacker Keenan Robinson, Pierre-Paul said his main focus is getting himself ready for the season.
