Giants' Nikita Whitlock suspended 10 games

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 12:50 a.m. ET

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) Fullback/defensive lineman Nikita Whitlock of the New York Giants has been suspended without pay for the team's next 10 games for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The NFL announced the ruling on Thursday.

Whitlock, who is on the reserve/injured list, will begin serving his suspension immediately.

Whitlock was waived-injured with a foot problem late last month. He can receive treatment for his injury, but it must be away from the Giants' facilities.

Whitlock won the fullback job from Henry Hynoski in training camp last season. He was on the field for 132 offensive plays, 61 defensive plays (one sack), and 276 special teams plays before hurting a knee in late December and being played on injured reserve.
