'Free Tom Brady' rally draws about 150 Patriots fans

New England Patriots fans will do anything to support their quarterback. For a decent handful, that meant ditching their Memorial Day weekend plans.

About 150 people gathered in a parking lot outside Gillette Stadium on Sunday morning as part of a “Free Tom Brady” rally to protest the quarterback’s suspension for his role in Deflategate.

“You can’t win four championships without fans like this,” 22-year-old Patriots fan Pablo Munoz told The Boston Globe. “We’re here together, unified.”

The rally was Munoz’s brainchild, as he recently created the Facebook event for a “peaceful rally to protest the unjust football arrest of half God half man Tom Brady.”

Brady is appealing the NFL’s ruling, so his four-game suspension isn’t set in stone. But that didn’t stop supporters from going to great lengths to attend the rally. One fan flew home early from a trip in Washington, D.C., to join the fun, while another couple postponed its honeymoon to Bermuda to make the trip.

“We’re supporting Brady completely,” Watertown resident Kellie Goodrow, one half of the couple in question, explained. “I just want to show support so he knows how many fans are behind him.”

We’re guessing Tom has gotten the memo by now. A 72-year-old Patriots fan recently declared Brady’s innocence in her own obituary, while a group of Patriots fans were arrested two weeks ago during a “sit-in” for Brady outside the NFL’s offices in New York.
