Garafolo: WR Edelman's contract a four-year, $17 million deal

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Wide receiver Julian Edelman says he's glad to be returning to the New England Patriots after a breakout season.

Edelman became a free agent last week, but a post on his Twitter account says, "Foxboro is home. Excited to be back."

FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo reports that the contract is a four-year deal worth $17 million with $8 million guaranteed.

Edelman had a career-high 105 catches last season. In his four other seasons with the Patriots since being drafted in 2009 he had 69 receptions. He emerged as Tom Brady's top target after Wes Welker became a free agent before last season and signed with the Denver Broncos.
