Former Rams center Scott Wells visits Titans

The Tennessee Titans have a lot riding on rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota and it seems they’re serious about protecting him. On Monday the team brought in former St. Louis Rams center Scott Wells, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean

Wells, 34, spent the last three seasons with the St. Louis. He started all 16 games in 2014. Prior to his stint in St. Louis, Wells spent eight years with the Green Bay Packers.

The 12-year-veteran attended high school in the Nashville area and played collegiately at the University of Tennessee.

If signed, Wells would add depth at the center position. The Titans currently have veteran Brian Schwenke and 2015 sixth-round choice Andy Gallick on the roster.
