Former Dolphin Konrad weak but OK after long swim to shore

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) Former Miami Dolphins fullback Rob Konrad says he's weak but OK and recovering after he fell off his boat near the South Florida coast and swam nine miles to shore.

Konrad's comments were made Friday through a family spokesman.

Konrad apparently fell off his boat while fishing Wednesday, the U.S. Coast Guard said. Unable to get back to the boat, Konrad swam in the dark and made it to shore after 4 a.m. Thursday.

Konrad played at Syracuse and then for the Dolphins from 1999 to 2004.
