Hill won't face felony charge

Former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill won't face a felony charge in his January arrest for investigation of domestic violence.

The King County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday the case for a felony charge was legally insufficient to pursue. Prosecutor's office spokesman Dan Donohoe says the case is being referred to the city attorney in Issaquah, the suburb where Hill was arrested. Hill could face possible misdemeanor charges.

Hill was arrested shortly after the Seahawks' season ended for investigation of third-degree assault-domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment-domestic violence. Both are felonies. Hill's girlfriend told police she was assaulted numerous times for more than five hours.

Hill has spent his entire NFL career in Seattle, but the Seahawks seem ready to move on. Hill became a free agent after the season and Seattle has issued his No. 56 to new defensive end Cliff Avril.
