Eagles missing 2 starters vs. Packers

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 12:54 a.m. ET

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Running back Ryan Mathews and right tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai won't play when the Philadelphia Eagles host Green Bay on Monday night because both players have knee injuries.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson ruled out Mathews and Vaitai on Saturday. They were injured in last Sunday's loss at Seattle.

Mathews leads Philadelphia (5-5) with 427 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. He also has one TD receiving.

Rookie Wendell Smallwood and versatile veteran Darren Sproles will carry the workload along with Kenjon Barner.

Vaitai will be replaced by left guard Allen Barbre. Stefan Wisniewski will start at Barbre's spot.
