Dolphins awarded WR Justin Hunter off waivers
The Miami Dolphins have been awarded one player off waivers today, former Tennessee Titans receiver Justin Hunter.
Hunter was a former 2nd round draft pick of the Titans and was entering his 4th NFL season after three average but dissapointing seasons. New receivers coach Shawn Jefferson worked with Hunter in Tennessee.

In his three seasons with Tennessee, Hunter posted 1,116 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.
Coming out of college, Hunter was a top draft prospect that many believed could have been drafted in the backend of round one. In his three seasons with the Titans he had a few changes at quarterback that included Zach Metzenberger, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jake Locker, Charlie Whitehurst, and of course Marcus Mariota.
The Dolphins released Griff Whalen a few moments ago to make room for Hunter. Whalen was kept through Saturday releases but the Dolphins were not going to carry 7 receivers even with De’Vante Parker’s hamstring issues.
In addition to the waiver claim of Hunter, the Dolphins are beginning to fill out their practice squad adding defensive tackle Jordan Williams.
