Dez Bryant's First Catch in Return Goes for 53 Yards (Video)
Dez Bryant’s back for the Dallas Cowboys and it didn’t take him long to burn the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.
Dez Bryant made his return to the field in Week 8 for the Dallas Cowboys with his first catch of the game against the Philadelphia Eagles going for a 53-yard reception on Sunday Night Football.
Bryant’s catch came when the Eagles guarded him in man-to-man coverage. Rookie quarterback Dak Prescott saw the opening and made the Eagles pay with Bryant making the spectacular catch in stride down the sideline until he was tackled by Eagles defender Leodis McKelvin.
This is what it looks like when a receiver cooks a defensive back:

Bryant had the height and weight advantage in the matchup with Bryant being 6-2, 220 pounds, while McKelvin is 5-10, 185 pounds.
For the Cowboys, Bryant hasn’t played in a game in around a month, last seeing action in Week 3 where he had three receptions for 40 yards and one touchdowns. Bryant missed games due to injury from Week’s 4-6 and the Cowboys had a bye in Week 7.
Going into Sunday night, Bryant had 11 receptions for 150 yards and one touchdown on the year, with his previous longest catch of the season being 21 yards.
The Cowboys will need Bryant from here on out. Even with the success they’ve had without him this season, he makes everyone on the offense better when he’s on the field and healthy. Bryant takes pressure off the rest of the wide receivers by drawing the best coverage, forcing defenses to give him a little extra focus compared to Terrance Williams and Brice Butler.
It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys and Bryant get back in rhythm for the remainder of the game and of 2016.
