Matthew Stafford bounces back from benching with big day vs. Bears

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was benched in Week 5, after throwing three interceptions in a 42-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. On Sunday, however, Stafford was able to redeem himself.

With the Chicago Bears visiting Ford Field in Week 6, Stafford had his best game of the season. He threw the ball 42 times, completing 27 of them for 405 yards and four touchdowns. No pass was bigger than this one -- a 57-yard completion to Calvin Johnson in overtime.

Stafford's deep throw to Johnson set up Matt Prater's 27-yard field goal to win it, 37-34.

Detroit's offensive explosion against the Bears (546 total yards) was fueled by Stafford's revitalized connection with Johnson. They were able to stretch the field with consistency, and that changed everything for a previously struggling Lions team.

Thanks to Stafford's comeback from an abysmal outing in Week 5, the Lions now have their first win of the season.
