DeSean Jackson says he was fined for wearing yellow caution-tape cleats

DeSean Jackson was hoping to send a message when he opted to wear cleats with yellow caution tape painted on them in Week 4. And he might have accomplished his goal, but the Washington Redskins star wideout also had to pay up for wearing those cleats.

Jackson told ESPN that he was fined by the NFL for the uniform violation. He told the outlet that he initially planned to wear the custom cleats only in pregame but then opted to do so during the game, too.

"It's cool, man," Jackson said of the fine, which typically runs  $6,076. "My message and what I wanted to get across was more of the case for that, so I wasn't worried about that [fine]."
