Where's DeSean Jackson going? Depends on who you believe

The ongoing saga of Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson and his future in Philadelphia had its most active day yet on Thursday, with one outlet reporting a trade was indeed in place, another reporting he could join Michael Vick in the Big Apple, and others reporting that the Eagles indeed want to shop Jackson — but better not hold their breath.

Then late in the day, Jackson's camp reportedly sounded off on the entire mess.

And when the day's trade winds stopped blowing, Jackson remained an Eagle.

Let's recap:

• The DJax rumor mill really picked up in the middle of the week, when CSN Philly reported that the two teams which fell a win short of Super Bowl XLVIII, the Patriots and 49ers, are also interested in adding Jackson's speed to their running game/tight end-oriented attacks. What's more, the report added that the Eagles entertained offers for Jackson before last year's draft, and that right now Philly wants at least a third-round pick for the receiver.

• On Thursday, NFL.com reported that the Jets are among a trio of teams with interest in acquiring Jackson. That one is of particular interest as Michael Vick, who spent the last few seasons throwing bombs to Jackson in Philly (when the two were healthy), is due to visit the Jets on Friday. The other teams interested in Jackson, according to the report, are Carolina and Oakland.

• And that wasn't the only outlet on the Panthers' interest.

Jimmy Kempski of Philly.com did a detailed statistical breakdown of Jackson and his potential trade value . . . let's just say he doesn't see the Eagles getting what they want — or what Jackson is likely worth.
