NEW YORK (AP) Denver Broncos nose tackle Sylvester Williams and New York Jets linebacker Demario Davis each have been fined $8,681 by the NFL for infractions during last week's games.

The league said Friday that Williams was fined for roughing the passer, hitting Detroit's Matthew Stafford while the Lions QB was sliding on Sept. 27.

His is the third fine against a member of Denver's top-ranked defense in two weeks. Linebacker DeMarcus Ware (roughing the passer) and defensive lineman Malik Jackson (late hit) were fined for infractions in their game against Kansas City on Sept. 17.

Davis was docked for unnecessary roughness in the Jets' game against Philadelphia when he tackled Darren Sproles, wrapping up the Eagles running back and slamming him into the ground.
