Denver Broncos: Kapri Bibbs sadly placed on injured reserve

The Denver Broncos placed Kapri Bibbs on injured reserve, ending his low-key breakout 2016 campaign. Justin Forsett was signed to replace him…

In a corresponding roster move following the acquisition of running back Justin Forsett, the Denver Broncos placed running back Kapri Bibbs on injured reserve…

While he had a couple of big runs on Sunday against the Jaguars, he will be remembered for this play in a loss to the Raiders:

It wasn’t a huge year for Bibbs, who had just that one touchdown and only 129 total yards rushing, but he was coming off of a five-carry, 49 yard performance in Jacksonville and showed some excellent vision and burst.

Undoubtedly, he will compete for a roster spot again next season, and the Broncos were only forced to place him on injured reserve due to other injuries on the roster. The ankle injury Bibbs suffered doesn’t involve any broken bones from what we’ve learned, but it could be the dreaded high ankle sprain that is always so tough for NFL players to come back quickly from.

Bibbs seems to be in good spirits, though he’s obviously disappointed…

It’s a disappointing loss for the Broncos, which had already suffered the loss of starting running back C.J. Anderson. Whether or not Anderson comes back this season also remains to be seen, but he is eligible to come back if the Broncos make it to the playoffs.
