Broncos LB Brandon Marshall on playing Brock Osweiler: 'We want to kill him'

Published Nov. 15, 2016 1:54 p.m. ET

Just last season, Brock Osweiler looked like somewhat of a hero in Denver. He stepped in for Peyton Manning and played fairly well, starting seven games before heading back to the bench.

In those seven games, Osweiler went 5-2 with a passer rating of 87.8, averaging 260 yards per game. Had it not been for him, one could argue that the Broncos may not have been in the position they were in 2015.

Fast-forward one year later and Osweiler is an enemy in Denver. Not because he didn’t re-sign with the Broncos and opted for more money in Houston, but due to the fact that he’s no longer in Denver.

As a result, the Broncos are prepared to light him up when he returns to Denver on Monday night.

"There's no ill will toward Brock. I am happy he got paid," linebacker Brandon Marshall said, via ABC 7. "But it's competition. We want to kill him."

Obviously, Marshall is just speaking on the heat of competition, but it’s clear the Broncos want to make him miserable when he comes to town. With the way Osweiler’s been playing this season, it shouldn’t be that difficult.

He’s struggled with his accuracy, particularly on downfield throws. Osweiler improved on Sunday night against the Colts, but he still had issues when throwing it 15-plus yards down the field.

Marshall isn’t the only one looking forward to dominating Osweiler, either.

"He's a gunslinger. He's also forcing a lot of throws. We know that he left us," Chris Harris Jr. said. "It's going to be great. I am pretty sure that he wants to win, and we want to beat him bad and get a lot of interceptions."

The Broncos are coming off of back-to-back losses, while the Texans just shocked the Colts with a comeback victory. The Broncos will be favored in this one, but Houston has the talent to give them a run for their money.
