Report: Broncos in talks to deal Lloyd

Published Oct. 13, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

The Denver Broncos have been in talks with three or four NFL teams who have expressed an interest in a trade for Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, The Denver Post reported Thursday, citing sources.

The Broncos are reportedly seeking anything from a third- to fifth-round draft pick in return ahead of next Tuesday's trade deadline.

Tennessee and Carolina are believed to be among the teams interested.

The sources said the fact Lloyd will be a free agent after this season was one of "multiple" factors that have seen him placed on the trading block.

The Broncos also have depth in the position, with Demaryius Thomas and Eddie Royal due to return after this weekend, while the team is set to shift to a more run-oriented offense with Tim Tebow taking over from Kyle Orton at quarterback.

Lloyd, 30 and in his ninth NFL season, led the NFL last season with 1,448 yards, and had 11 touchdowns. This season he has 19 receptions for 283 yards and no touchdowns.
