Jerry Jones: Romo won't sit even if Cowboys can't contend

According to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, regardless of what the Cowboys' record is at the time, quarterback Tony Romo will be reinserted into the starting lineup when healthy.

Romo will be eligible to return from the injured reserve/designated to return list Nov. 22 in a Week 11 game against the Miami Dolphins, and Jones expects him to be out there right away.

"When he gets on the field against Miami, and it most assuredly will be at this juncture, there's no set of circumstances that we wouldn't play him and play him with hopes of winning that game and winning the rest of the ballgames," Jones told 105.3 The Fan in Dallas on Tuesday, per ESPN. "I think not only our game but sports in general, if you've got an opportunity, if you got a chance to win this thing, then you take it.

"I know I'm talking in generalities, but specifically, we have a team that could really, from the standpoint of the personnel that's on the field, really be a top team as we get into the last half of this season. We want to show our fans that."

The Cowboys don't want him practicing three straight days just yet, but he will take part in some practices this week again, just like he did last week. He even got in some work with the scout team in 11-on-11 drills last week, and he will likely get more work there this week.
