Cowboys reportedly not going after recently released RG3

Published Mar. 7, 2016 9:40 p.m. ET

Now that Robert Griffin has been released by the Washington Redskins, the rumor mill on the quarterback's potential landing spot will heat up.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the teams that could have interest in RG3, who has been riddled by injuries the past two seasons. But Yahoo Sports Senior NFL reporter Charles Robinson doesn't believe the Cowboys will be in play for the former Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Griffin played just nine games last season, throwing for 1,694 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions. He has struggled to stay on the field after a litany of injuries and eventually lost his starting job with the Redskins to Kirk Cousins last season.
