Rookie Josh Freeman was Tampa Bay's inactive third quarterback for Sunday's season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Freeman was the 17th overall pick in this year's draft and was elevated to No. 2 on the depth chart behind Byron Leftwich after Luke McCown was traded to Jacksonville last week.

Second-year pro Josh Johnson was Leftwich's backup against the Cowboys. Matt McCoy started at weakside linebacker, replacing Geno Hayes, who was late for pregame.

Stephen McGee was Dallas' third quarterback. The other inactives were safety Mike Hamlin, linebackers Jason Williams and Curtis Johnson, guard Montrae Holland, center Duke Preston, tackle Pat McQuistan and receiver Kevin Ogletree.

Tampa Bay's other inactives were cornerback E.J. Biggers, linebacker Adam Hayward, offensive lineman Marc Dile, tackle Demar Dotson, tight end John Gilmore, defensive end/tackle Kyle Moore and defensive end Maurice Evans.
