Colts vs Jets: Gameday info for Week 13 Monday Night Football

For fans heading out to MetLife Stadium for tonight’s Week 13 Colts vs Jets matchup, here’s everything you need to know for Monday Night Football.

Ah yes, Monday Night Football is finally upon us. It might be the start of a new week for many but symbolizes the final game of Week 13 in the NFL. Tonight, the football world will see the Colts vs Jets in a game that a much-needed win for either team would give them something positive to think about all week long.

If you’re planning on attending tonight’s game, make sure to dress warmly as it will be cold. Courtesy of the Media Relations Department of the Jets, they sent us a plethora of info for fans in attendance. Check it all out below:

FIRST RESPONDERS NIGHT: The New York Jets will honor our First Responders, saluting all the men and women who serve and protect our communities. In addition to the First responders taking part in pregame activities, a New Jersey State Trooper Helicopter flyover will take place following the National Anthem and numerous emergency vehicles from the NYPD, FDNY and New York State Troopers will be on display in parking lots for tours.

MY CAUSE, MY CLEATS: NFL players will have the chance to share the causes that are important to them, as part of the NFL’s My Cause, My Cleats campaign. More than 500 players will showcase their causes on-field during games, with many working directly with Nike, Under Armour and Adidas to design their cleats. Players will have the opportunity to auction their cleats off at NFL Auction, where 100% of funds raised will be donated to charities selected by players. Some causes that will be showcased on Jets players’ cleats include: American Football Without Barriers, Children’s Tumor Foundation, Freedom Service Dogs, Go4theGoal, Hands Across Louisville, New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund, The United Way, TEAM 96 Foundation and Project 375.

BUD LIGHT – I CALLED IT: Play along with the Jets in the all new “Bud Light – I Called It!” game during tonight’s action. Download the Jets official app, tap the “I Called It” button and if you correctly predict a Jets touchdown play, you could be heading to a future Jets game or win other great prizes.

Pregame Notes

NATIONAL ANTHEM: The National Anthem will be performed by New York City Police Officer Lauren Leggio. A group of 125 First Responders will hold a 30×30 American Flag during the National Anthem. In addition, 50 police officers – including the Linden Police Officers that captured the NY/NJ bombing suspect this past September – will stand in honor formation during the Anthem.
HONORARY CAPTAINS: Eight First Responders will serve as honorary captains including: Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro (FDNY), former Commissioner Salvatore Cassano (FDNY), retired Battalion Chief John Carroll (FDNY), Commissioner James O’Neill (NYPD), Chief of Department Carlos Gomez(NYPD), retired Lieutenant John Rowland (NYPD), Commissioner Timothy D. Sini (Suffolk County PD), Chief of Department Stuart Cameron (Suffolk County PD), Fire Chief Dan Czeh (Cranford FD), MD James Vosswinkel and the family of fallen NYPD Officer SGT. Paul Tuozzolo.
PLAYER INTRODUCTIONS: Six Newark Police and Linden Police motorcycles will lead the team out of the tunnel and through 50 First Responders from various police, fire and emergency departments on the field.
CO-PILOT OF THE GAME: Kenneth Kuerzi will be the Co-Pilot of the game. Kuerzi has been a season ticket holder since 1991 and redeemed this experience through Jets Rewards. Mark Rauchwerger, a season ticket holder since 1996, who redeemed this experience through Jets Rewards, will power the Air Raid Siren.

Halftime

PIPE & DRUM BAND: Fifty-five members of the Suffolk County New York Pipe and Drum Band will perform at halftime.

On The Plaza

METLIFE CENTRAL: Make MetLife Central your fan destination on game day at MetLife Stadium and meet Jets Alum Wesley Walker from 6:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

JETS EXPERIENCE: Inside the “Jets Experience,” find out how you size up against current Jets players, study up on your Jets history, and take fun photos with oversized J-E-T-S letters and the logo gloves sculpture. New for this season, fans can pose for pictures on a life-sized trading card backdrop and a life-sized Joe Namath Bobblehead. 

VERIZON: Fans attending the game can visit the Verizon Fan Zone for a chance to upgrade their seats, play the Verizon Game Time virtual reality experience, watch NFL Mobile, enjoy complimentary phone charging and more.

SAP: Listen live inside the SAP gate from 7:30 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. as SNY’s Jeané Coakley and Jets alum Blair Thomas discuss the 2016 New York Jets.

TOYOTA: Be sure to check out the QB toss and skee ball games incorporated within the Toyota vehicles on display. Fans can also take part in the RAV4 Roll-a-Way or Sienna packing game to win a prize. Toyota will also give away sunglasses and clear fanny packs.

BUD LIGHT: Enjoy $5 Bud Lights, music and meet the Jets Flight Crew and Jets alum Erik McMillan in the Bud Light Beer Garden between SAP and Bud Light gates.

    ESPN RADIO: ESPN NY 98.7 FM with Greg Buttle and Don La Greca will broadcast live from 6:25 p.m. – 8:10 p.m. on the MetLife Stage. Jets Alum Blair Thomas will join the broadcast at 7:00 p.m.

    BASF: One of the world’s leading chemical companies has partnered with the Jets for the “Team Chemistry” campaign. BASF will have a tent on the island showcasing what goes into making football equipment and educational tips on how to make a more sustainable gameday experience. The tent will also feature corn hole, giveaways and Season Ticket Holders can receive 250 Jets Rewards points for taking a survey.

    CAMPBELL’S SOUP: The Campbell’s Soup truck will be on the island distributing free samples of soup and clear NFL compliant bags.

    VIRTUAL REALITY PRESENTED BY ADORAMA: Beginning at 4:30 p.m. on the Island between the MetLife and Verizon gates, go inside the VR Lounge Experience to get closer to the field in a fun virtual reality experience with free popcorn and hot chocolate (while supplies last).

    NRG: Fans can huddle up for pictures in the NRG/Jets locker room and charge their phones at the NRG solar charging station. Jets Flight Crew will be signing autographs and taking photos from 7:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

    JETBLUE: Be on the lookout for JetBlue crew members on the Island and parking lots E, F & G as the distribute phone case wallets and texting gloves.

    Info For Fans

    JETS CASH: With help from Bud Light, the Jets are testing Bud Light Speed Serve – Check out the speed serve locations in MetLife Central, Toyota and Chase Clubs, and Section 306. Note: accepted exclusively at speed serve locations. All normal and customary alcohol procedures remain in place.

    MERCHANDISE/FOOD & BEVERAGE: The Italian Roast Pork Sandwich will be $8, (normally $9) and all outerwear and all hats (knits and caps) will be 15% off. Mark Gastineau will be appearing in the Flagship Store from 6:45pm – 8:15pm.

    CLEAR BAGS: Fans are permitted to bring inside the stadium one clear plastic bag that does not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” as well as one small clutch bag, approximately 4.5” x 6.5” (size of a hand). Purses, handbags, seat cushions, camera and binocular cases are not permitted.
