Josh Gordon's long TD shows Browns they might not want to trade him

Published Aug. 26, 2016 10:10 p.m. ET

Josh Gordon has been the subject of trade talk for the past week, but on Friday night he showed the Cleveland Browns they might be better off keeping him.

Or else he raised his trade value.

Either way, Gordon gave the Browns what they've been missing, hooking up with RG3 on a 44-yard reception on his first throw and a 43-yard score over Brent Grimes.

Gordon hadn't played since December 2014. He missed most of 2014 and all of 2015 due to drug-related suspensions, and he'll miss the first four games of this season. The Browns have stuck by him, but that could change if a team makes the right offer. The NFL Network reported Friday the asking price is a "second-rounder and more."

If Gordon's score is a sign he can return to his Pro Bowl form of 2013 —€” 87 catches for an NFL-leading 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns —€” then his price just went up, or he might be off the market entirely.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
