Bengals QB Dalton injures arm

Published Aug. 30, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton does not appear to have a serious injury after leaving Thursday night's preseason finale with a bruised right arm.

Coach Marvin Lewis says Dalton was ''fine'' and would have returned had it been a regular season game.

Dalton was hit by Robert Mathis and others on the Bengals' sixth offensive play. Initially, he stayed down, then got up and walked toward the sideline where he dropped to the ground again. Trainers appeared to be checking his elbow.

Bruce Gradkowski replaced Dalton for the Bengals.

Dalton remained dressed in shoulder pads and stood on the sideline for the rest of the drive, which ended with a 37-yard field goal.
