The Indianapolis Colts are tied for the lead in the AFC South thanks to backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who is 4-0 in his starts this season.

And with Hasselbeck playing so efficiently this season compared to starter Andrew Luck, who has been hammered with various injuries all year, it is natural for speculation to arise as to whether he could keep Luck from his starting job.

Putting an end to any notion of Luck losing his starting job, head coach Chuck Pagano recommended ignoring social media rumors.

Pagano also said that Luck is week-to-week while he heals from a lacerated kidney. Though with how wonderfully the 40-year old Hasselbeck has been filling in, the Colts won’t likely rush Luck - who could easily benefit from observing the veteran - back to work.

So far in Luck’s starts this year he is 2-5. While it’s mostly been rough going, Luck did orchestrate one heck of a victory (27-24) when the Colts knocked the then-undefeated Denver Broncos off their perch of perfection in Week 9.

It’s performances like that and hours of other excellent game tape that should serve as proof that Luck is not going to be un-seated by a veteran quarterback who will be facing some tougher defenses down the stretch.
