Chargers CB Flowers expected to be at full speed soon

The Chargers shouldn't be too concerned with their sidelined top cornerback.

It's only June. And Brandon Flowers missed a similar span of time last spring before coming through in a big way for the Bolts in the fall.

“I’ll be ready to go in training camp," Flowers told U-T San Diego. “I’m fine, I’m fine.”

General manager Tom Telesco did a fine job wooing Flowers last offseason. A lot has changed since then; Flowers is making $17 million more in guaranteed money after re-upping with San Diego.

His goal now is to fully recover from minor bumps and bruises and make that health last all season long. Flowers and fellow cornerback Jason Verrett missed a combined 12 starts last season.

"My goal is for myself and the other defensive backs to stay healthy all 16 games," Flowers said.
