Report: Panthers center Ryan Kalil says he'll play in season opener

Published Sep. 4, 2015 3:08 p.m. ET

While Carolina Panthers center Ryan Kalil has missed the final two preseason games due to a sprained knee, the team finally received some good news when it came to an injury update.

According to the official Twitter account of Black and Blue Review, Kalil expects to be out there for Carolina's opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Kalil is one of the most important pieces of this offense moving forward, as they'll need their veteran center to help ease the pressure on quarterback Cam Newton.
