Cam Newton on big hit after slowing up: 'My dad will say I deserve it'

In case you missed it, Cam Newton took a pretty big hit against the New Orleans Saints. One that was similar to previous years, but not that we've seen much of from the Carolina Panthers quarterback in 2015.

The reason for the hit? Newton chose to slow up a bit as he was heading towards the goal line, and he paid for it.

After the game, he was asked about the big hit, and as Max Henson of the team's official website reports, Newton felt he deserved it.

To top it off, Joseph Person of The Charlotte Observer pointed out that Newton even said that his own dad would have said he deserved the big hit.

So, there you have it. Fortunately, Newton avoided any type of injury or concussion, but you can bet that he'll be avoiding taking any hits like that in the near future unless he absolutely has to.
