Josh Norman gives credit to Julio Jones, Atlanta’s offense

Josh Norman was quick to give praise to Atlanta after their upset in Week 16.

While Josh Norman of the Carolina Panthers spent the bulk of Week 15 going back and forth with Odell Beckham Jr., he had quite the different tune after a Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Not only did Norman, who was beaten for seven catches for 91 yards when matched up directly with Julio Jones, have little to say, but he actually complimented Atlanta’s offense.

Via Joseph Person of The Charlotte Observer:

“I don’t know. I think I played pretty hard,” Norman said. “The plays that were made, you’ve got to tip the hats off to the offense. They get paid, too.”

Obviously after all we’ve heard from Norman in previous weeks, including calling out Roddy White as being the No. 5 wide receiver on the Falcons, this is a bit surprising. Regardless, Norman seems to have been humbled by Jones, who he did play very well against just a two weeks before this game. Expect the matchup between these two players to be one to watch for years to come.
