Cardinals’ Rhodes confirms tiff with Dockett
Arizona safety Kerry Rhodes has confirmed he had a run-in with
teammate Darnell Dockett at the end of Sunday’s game against the
New York Jets but said reports that Dockett had spit in his face
”Yes, we had a disagreement on the field but, no he did NOT
spit in my face. Absolutely did not,” Rhodes said in an email
released by the Cardinals. ”I’m not going to get into all the
details because I think those are things you keep within the team.
But Darnell and I talked after the game, we’re both moving on and
I’ll leave it at that.”
The dispute reportedly centered on the Cardinals’ desire to
allow the Jets to score late in the game so the offense would get
the ball to go for the tying score. Dockett didn’t want to allow a
The issue became moot when Shonn Greene purposely downed the
ball at the Arizona 1-yard line and the Jets ran out the clock for
a 7-6 victory.
The incident occurred at the end of an ugly game in which the
Cardinals defense played well but the offense was horrible. It was
Arizona’s eighth loss in a row.
Dockett had a series of tweets that referred to the case.
Although he did not get into specifics, he wrote that there are
”two sides to every story.”

my tweets,” Dockett wrote. ”Oh and by the way when I’m wrong I
say it. Just FYI.”
