Rex Ryan is 'confident' QB Tyrod Taylor will return after bye

The Buffalo Bills have lost three of their last four games, dropping them to 3-4 on the season. They're now last in the division after looking strong to start the year, and much of that is due to the bevy of injuries they've had to overcome.

One key injury, along with LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins, the Bills have had to endure is one to Tyrod Taylor. He's missed the past two games due to a sprained MCL and the offense has suffered greatly in his absence.

Fortunately, he's expected to be back for the team's next game. Rex Ryan said this after the game Sunday.

"I'm confident Tyrod Taylor will be back after the bye," Ryan said. "We’ll see where he’s at after we come back from the bye."

EJ Manuel had a rough outing against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday, tossing two interceptions and losing a fumble on three consecutive possessions -- two of which went for defensive touchdowns. He's not the answer at quarterback for the Bills, and he's made it clear that Taylor is needed in the worst way possible. But even with his poor performance, Ryan didn't completely bury his talent.

"I think when his fundamentals are tight, EJ is accurate," Ryan said. "He threw a couple great deep balls. So I would disagree with that statement."

If the Bills are to contend for a playoff spot, it will likely have to come via a Wild Card berth. The Patriots are 6-0 and are unlikely to surrender the top spot in the division with a two-game lead. Taylor will give the Bills a huge lift, but it remains to be seen if it will be enough.
