Rex Ryan on Patriots: 'If Belichick's playing QB, we're coming after him'

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels says he doesn't know who will be the starting quarterback this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, but Bills head coach Rex Ryan says he doesn't matter who is taking the snaps.

"I can sit back and say I don't care who plays quarterback, because [Tom] Brady ain't," Ryan said, via ESPN.com. "I don't care who plays quarterback. Steve Grogan can play quarterback. If [Bill] Belichick's playing quarterback, we're coming after him, I promise you that."

Backup quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett are nursing injuries, and are the only two quarterbacks on the active roster.

After Sunday's game, the team will have starter Tom Brady back in the fold as he completes his four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate.

Ryan says he also has to prepare for Julian Edelman to play quarterback in case the Patriots uses the former college signal caller out at quarterback.

"I know how difficult it is to defend against a running quarterback," Ryan said. "That's what we have to be ready [for] in case Edelman quarterbacks, right? I have a funny feeling he isn't going to be Brady back there."

Buffalo has lost seven of the last eight meetings against New England, including losing both contest last season.
