Bills RB Boobie Dixon prepared to start Sunday, 'get the win'

The Buffalo Bills will likely be without several offensive starters for the second straight week on Sunday, but one backup doesn't think it will be a problem.

Boobie Dixon is expected to get the start if Karlos Williams and LeSean McCoy are unable to go, and he's prepared to be the lead back in Buffalo.

"I’m just going to do what I’ve been putting on tape," Dixon said via the team's official website. "I think Boobie Dixon is good enough. It hasn’t gone the way I want it to this year, but I know I’m fully capable of keeping the chains moving and getting us good second downs and good third downs. With coach giving me the lead this week, I feel that support, and I feel that sense of comfortability that I can just go out there and relax and make plays. That’s what I’m going to do."

Numbers would suggest otherwise, with regards to the Bills' offense suffering without McCoy and Sammy Watkins. Last week, the Bills only put up 10 points without them, and it will get even tougher if Williams is unable to play.

For Dixon, returning to the role of being the main back has been a long time coming. He's started just one game in his NFL career, and it came in 2013 with the San Francisco 49ers. He carried it twice in that game for minus-five yards, so he's certainly looking for redemption.

"It’s been a minute," Dixon said. "But I’m getting that feeling again. I’ve been watching some old clips, watching some old runs, just trying to get that good feeling going and trying to keep that positive mindset. I can’t wait for Sunday."
