Browns' McDonald not starting

Published Dec. 27, 2009 5:15 p.m. ET

Browns starting right cornerback Brandon McDonald has been benched again and will be replaced Sunday against Oakland by safety Mike Adams.

With Adams moving over, wide receiver Mike Furrey will make his first start at safety since he was with the St. Louis Rams in 2005.

McDonald had been back in the starting lineup the past two weeks after playing behind Adams for three weeks.

Also, Browns right tackle John St. Clair will sit out with an ankle injury. St. Clair will be replaced by guard Floyd Womack, who filled in for him when Cleveland racked up 351 rushing yards in a 41-34 win over the Chiefs.
