DAVIE, Fla. -- Pro Bowl left tackle Branden Albert has signed a $47 million, five-year deal with the Miami Dolphins.

The contract was signed Wednesday, less than 24 hours after Albert agreed to terms. A news conference was scheduled at the Dolphins' complex.

Albert, a first-round draft pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008, started 83 games for them in the past six seasons. He'll move into the position played at the start of last season by Jonathan Martin, who left the Dolphins in October as their bullying scandal mushroomed.

Martin was traded Tuesday to the San Francisco 49ers.
