Parcells on Dan Campbell: His leadership qualities are on display

The Miami Dolphins’ resurgence is captivating the NFL world. Could interim head coach Dan Campbell really be the key to jumpstarting a talented roster?

Legendary former coach Bill Parcells, who had Campbell on his roster for three season when he helmed the Cowboys, said that even he isn’t totally sure about how the Dolphins have made such a stunning turnaround.

"Dan does have leadership qualities and quite apparently they’re on display," Parcells said while on ‘The Herd’ on Monday. "Now it’s very, very early. He hasn’t faced adversity yet and it hasn’t stood the test of time."

The Dolphins started 1-3 before firing head coach Joe Philbin heading into their bye week. Under Campbell, they’re 2-0 and have outscored their opponents 82-36.

"For some reason or another, I don’t think it’s anything against the former coach (Philbin), they just seem to be responding differently (to Campbell)," Parcells said.

Colin Cowherd also admitted how wrong he was about the new Dolphins coach, saying: "Two things are obvious: He’s energized a talented roster … and Joe Philbin was clearly awful."
