Beyonce fans, critics both plan protests outside NFL league office

The Super Bowl may be over, but the fallout from Beyonce's halftime show appearance is far from it.

The singer's performance reportedly was an ode to the Black Panthers and Malcolm X, and now there is a protest being planned for Feb. 16 outside the NFL offices in New York. That just happens to be the same day tickets for her "Formation" world tour go on sale.

The unnamed group organizing the protest has an event page that intimates Beyonce's performance was a shot at law enforcement and goes into some detail.

Are you offended as an American that Beyonce pulled her race-baiting stunt at the Superbowl?

Do you agree that it was a slap in the face to law enforcement?

Do you agree that the Black Panthers was/is a hate group which should not be glorified?

Come and let's stand together. Let's tell the NFL we don't want hate speech & racism at the Superbowl ever again!

It didn't take long for a Beyonce fan to start up a rival event page, pushing for a counter-protest at the same time and place.

The "Formation" video and Beyonce's Super Bowl performance have drawn scorn from high-profile New York political figures, including the former Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

"This is football, not Hollywood, and I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people who protect her and protect us, and keep us alive," Giuliani said, via the New York Daily News
