Roethlisberger: Steelers 'undisciplined, not accountable' in loss to Cowboys
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger called out his teammates after the team's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, saying the Steelers were "undisciplined and not accountable."
Pittsburgh lost its fourth straight game on Sunday, a 35–30 setback to Dallas. Roethlisberger threw for 408 yarda and three touchdowns in the loss.
"We are undisciplined and not accountable," Roethlisberger said. "That's why (the Cowboys) are one of the best in the business and we're not right now."
The Steelers took a 30–29 lead with 42 seconds remaining on a 15-yard touchdown toss from Roethlisberger to Antonio Brown, capping off a 75-yard scoring drive.
It took the Cowboys only 33 seconds to mount their own 75-yard drive, which was aiding by a 15-yard penalty on Steelers safety Sean Davis when he grabbed the facemask of Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott provided the winning points with a 32-yard touchdown run with nine seconds left.
Roethlisberger was at a loss as to how the team got to this point.
"I don't know. Is it players? Is it coaches? I don't know, but we need to get there quick," he said.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin agreed with Roethlisberger, saying there was not "enough discipline and detail in our play" to beat Dallas.
Pittsburgh (4–5) takes on the winless Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
