– NEW YORK – Five weeks after the wild ending to the Super Bowl, free agency begins. The first few days figure to be just as wild. Among those available: Ndamukong Suh, DeMarco Murray, Darrelle Revis.

– PARIS – Three French athletes – Olympic gold medalist swimmer Camille Muffat, Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine and pioneering sailor Florence Arthaud – are among the 10 dead when helicopters crash in Argentina.

– SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Willis of the 49ers is retiring at age 30. His decision comes after an abbreviated season because of toe surgery.

– Spring training highlights: Mariners star Felix Hernandez makes spring debut; Rangers ace Yu Darvish gets second opinion on ailing elbow; Brewers await arrival of closer Francisco Rodriguez from Venezuela.

– LAS VEGAS – No. 7 Gonzaga makes its 18th straight appearance in the West Coast Conference championship, playing BYU for an automatic spot in the NCAA Tournament. Game starts 9 p.m.

– Other conference tournament finals: Horizon (Green Bay at Valparaiso, 7 p.m.); Northeast (Robert Morris at St. Francis, N.Y.), 7 p.m.); Summit (South Dakota State vs. North Dakota State, 9 p.m.).

– DALLAS – Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is expected to testify at a trial stemming from a lawsuit brought by a handful of fans who sued the NFL over problems with temporary seats at the 2011 Super Bowl.

– The AP’s latest Run to the Roses Top 10 of Kentucky Derby contenders following big wins by highly regarded Dortmund, Carpe Diem and El Kabeir.

– NEW YORK – Roger Federer plays Grigor Dimitrov and Monica Seles faces Gabriela Sabatini in two tennis exhibitions at Madison Square Garden.

– COLUMBUS, Ohio – There is not a quarterback controversy at Ohio State. At least not on Tuesday, the first of 15 spring practices and just 57 days since the Buckeyes won the national championship.

– The Champions League features two round of 16 games: Porto (Portugal) vs. Basel (Switzerland); Real Madrid (Spain) vs. Schalke (Germany). Games start 3:45 p.m.
