Report: Tevin Coleman may be back at practice Wednesday

Published Oct. 5, 2015 6:30 p.m. ET

The Atlanta Falcons are rolling right along, even without rookie running back Tevin Coleman. Fortunately, it's been Devonta Freeman who has not only stepped up, but has dominated in Coleman's absence.

While Coleman is fighting to return back from a fractured rib he suffered against the New York Giants in Week 2, the Falcons got some good news according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

When asked about Coleman's status, Dan Quinn opened up about the young running back, stating that he hopes to have him back at practice Wednesday.

“We’re hopeful, we’ll probably be able to get him for sure some work on starting Wednesday,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Monday. “We are hoping that he’ll be back with us.”

Obviously, Coleman hasn't been missed nearly as bad as fans had assumed he may be. As Ledbetter points out, Freeman has totaled 342 yards from scrimmage in the last two games, while scoring an incredible six touchdowns.

It'll be interesting to see how playing time works out if Coleman returns to action in Week 5 against the Washington Redskins.
