Devonta Freeman is exceptional in this key statistical category
Through nine weeks of NFL action, we’ve seen quite a bit of strong running back play across the league. Possibly none has been stronger or more impressive than what we’ve seen from Devonta Freeman though.
Aside from his poor showing in Week 9, as the San Francisco 49ers were willing to do anything and everything in their power to contain Freeman, he’s been simply dominant.
According to a recent tweet from Pro Football Focus, Freeman has been one of the best in the league at breaking tackles as well, which is likely a part of his 2015 success.
Most missed tackles forced through Wk9: Dion Lewis – 43 Doug Martin – 39 Devonta Freeman – 39 Carlos Hyde – 35 Mark Ingram – 34

After hearing the disheartening news that Dion Lewis will be out for the year, it’s likely that Freeman and Martin will battle for the most broken tackles this year. Don’t be surprised if the No. 1 back in Atlanta finds himself at the top of this statistical category, as well as many more when all is said and done.
